A Day in the Life

I'm not that pretty but that's me most days. Sitting in front of a computer. The day job is spent doing level one tech support with health professionals. The night job is spent working on marketing strategies and posting about my books. Or whatever else strikes my fancy. And somewhere in there, I actually manage to write a chapter. Advance a plot, illuminate a character.

And somewhere in there, I'm supposed to be up off my fanny and getting some semblance of exercise in so that I'm not a major pudding. And today, I got a newsletter out with an excerpt and a note about the 4th of July. Tonight, I'm enjoying a cup of strawberry herbal tea and thinking about the next book I plan to read for review. Trying to read current novels and failing miserably.

LOL I can feel the sympathy coming off you in waves.

Don't get me wrong, I love my life. I love to stay busy. Keeps me young. I think. Or at least, sane. My life revolves around books and stories and publishing and marketing. And my friends who still see something worthwhile in me. And my family, whom I don't see nearly enough.

Welcome to the chaos that passes for my mind.

Review: Lucy Score's Breaking the Rules (A Sinner and Saint Novel: Book 2)

Wow, two books in one weekend. I haven't done that in a while. It was nice to get back in the groove.

Second chances don't come often. They're rare and precious when they do. No one knows better than Xavier Saint when he gets his second chance with Waverly Sinner. She's grown up in the five years they've been out of each other's lives. X has a huge mountain to climb if he's going to get back in her good graces. And she's got a few secrets that he doesn't know about.

Nothing like Contemporary Romance with a side of danger and intrigue. And there is a definite character arc to these two that shows how much they have changed. The effect these two have on each other is definitely hot! And hasn't faded. But then, that was never the problem. Old favorites, new favorites. More intrigue than you can shake a dead snake at. And another book that you won't be able to put down until you've read the last word.

Lucy Score has an amazing talent for creating these books with heart and soul. Real people that can walk off the pages and into your life as if they've always been there and always belonged. Definitely another five star read.

Review: Lucy Score's Crossing the Line, (A Saint & Savior Novel, Book 1)

Not the usual lighthearted, romantic fare from this author. This one gets serious. And still hooked me in. Xavier Saint is one hell of a hero. Waverly Sinner is not your usual spoiled brat movie star. Together, the chemistry practically sizzles off the page and crackles with electricity. The ending was a tiny bit predictable for a cliffhanger, but I still bit down on that hook like a hungry fish. I can't wait to read the second book. And pray for more in the series.

Lucy Score does it again with characters that feel so real that I know them. Her plots are always intricate and you have to keep reading. Because to put that book down is to immediately pick it back up. I had to finish. I had to know what was happening next. And now I have to read the second book.

Must read. Must Savor. Must have.

Five out of five stars!!

Welcome to the Reborn Coffeyhouse.

Oh honey, pull up a chair — the Coffeyhouse is open.

If you’ve followed me before, you know my previous blog decided to throw itself dramatically off a digital cliff. The link broke, the domain rebelled, and the whole thing collapsed like a badly built stage set. So I swept up the glitter, grabbed a fresh mug, and built a new space.

Welcome to Jesse’s Coffeyhouse: The Chaos that Passes for My Mind.

This is where I’ll spill everything — behind‑the‑scenes stories, personal nonsense, writing updates, excerpts, rants, rituals, and whatever else my brain decides to fling at the wall. It’s cozy, it’s chaotic, and it’s absolutely me.

Settle in. I’ve missed having a place to talk to you.
